A LITTLE ABOUT ME

Jim grew up in the quaint town of Dixon, California. His pops said he wasn’t an easy kid to raise; always on the go, tinkering with things, and constantly asking insanely brilliant questions his parents couldn’t answer. So, they finally had enough and threw him into school early at the age of 4. As a child, Jim wanted to be a cheetah, the fastest cheetah in the world. His siblings recall Jim running next to the car in an attempt to track his speed. His desire to be a cheetah evolved into wanting to be a scientist and he actually pursued it. After flunking out of Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, Jim eventually went on to graduate from Humboldt State University with a degree in Molecular/Cellular Biology and Chemistry.

It was during college that Jim developed an interest in real estate after reading investment books because science books weren’t as fun. He took on a mortgage apprentice job in 2005 and has never looked back. He survived the Great Recession. At his previous company, he continually earned the title of top producer and snagged a spot as a member of the President’s Club over several years.

Fun fact about Jim Modar: At the age of 17, he won a body building competition!

Aside from working 24/7, Jim enjoys eating lots of good food and loves to cook; he’s currently obsessed with making sourdough bread. He regularly ‘supports’ local breweries to grab his favorite beer, a Hazy IPA. He enjoys CrossFit, fishing, hunting, backpacking, and hiking up some of America’s tallest ridges. He is constantly with his wingman, his beloved black lab named Duke. Jim also enjoys flipping homes and renovating his own home with his wife. His favorite part, hands down, is demo day. He also has aspirations to be on Jeopardy one day.
